Project Overview
AI-powered social media SaaS.
* As this client works in a highly competitive niche, his request was to remain anonymous as he is worried that disclosing details could lead to his SEO strategy being stolen by competitors. At VW, we always put the customer first – so this case study will be told without mentioning the client’s name.
The Challenges
Before partnering with VW, the client had worked with another agency and utilized SEO as one of the channels for digital marketing. However, the client didn’t get the desired outcomes and decided to change the agency and give us a try.
The main task that was assigned to us was to increase organic traffic on the landing page. Additionally, the client had one more query. In the new SEO strategy, he wanted to test some commercial keywords that had shown quite good results in PPC.
Our Solution
Developing a new SEO strategy was our priority. To accomplish this task, we did comprehensive keyword research and found out which keywords had the potential to achieve TOP positions on Google.
By discussing the keywords with the client and taking into account the fact that the client wanted to produce content that would perform not only SEO functions but also marketing, we have developed a strategy that accommodated both of these goals. The strategy was as follows:
- Work with on-page SEO: creating SEO-optimized blog posts, creating internal links from the blog posts, optimizing content on the landing page;
- Work with technical SEO;
- Work with off-page SEO.
This strategy has shown quite good results. But over time we noticed that the growth of the project had stopped. And to get the project back on the growth track, we decided to make some changes to the strategy and focus more on linkbuilding.
After discussing a new strategy with the client, we started to build more links and focus on building much more expensive links rather than we have built previously.
The new link building focused strategy gave a boost to the project, but not for long. So we had to look for new ways to increase organic traffic growth.
As we knew that the client’s industry was very changeable, we kept our eye on the ball and occasionally did keyword research. During one of the keyword research, we found new relevant keywords for the project and decided to try them.
We created additional landing pages and optimized them with new keywords. This step allowed us to gain a significant increase in organic traffic.
Given the immense success of the last measure, we decided to update our SEO strategy and now our SEO strategy looks this way:
- Creation of blog posts with internal links;
- Building links to the main landing page and duplicate pages;
- Researching for new relevant keyword groups for which we can create new landing pages.

The Results
Starting an SEO campaign in 2019, the project has had ups and downs. However, we can say with confidence that our efforts have yielded results.
Let’s take a closer look at the results.
To begin with, we should categorize the results by different phases of the project’s progression. Such a division will gain a better understanding of the achievements.
The first phase is from 2019 to May 2022. If you look at the graph of non-branded organic traffic growth, you can see that there were some traffic ups and downs throughout the period.
However, everything changed in June 2022, when the duplicate pages were created and got indexed by Google. That is when a second phase, a phase of rapid growth, started.
According to statistics, during the second phase, non-branded organic traffic increased from 1020 to 22345 users in 6 months. And if you look at the results for the entire period of the project, non-branded organic traffic has increased by 1034% from 2160 to 22345 users.
We have just shown you the results of non-branded organic traffic growth. However, what about the overall project’s results?
Here they are. According to Ahrefs’ statistics, from the period from May 2020 to October 2022, organic traffic has increased from 3189 to 51720 users. Moreover, we achieved TOP positions on Google during the same period. Here is a more detailed statistic:
- 865 keywords achieved TOP 1-3 positions on Google;
- 1765 keywords achieved TOP 4-10 positions on Google;
- 23626 keywords achieved TOP 11-100 positions on Google.
